Watch Care Guide

Your timepiece needs care and regular maintenance to ensure its accuracy and protect its appearance. A soft cloth is ideal for cleaning smudges and fingerprints off of the case, crystal/glass or bracelet. With everyday use there may come a time when scratches may appear on your timepiece, but most cases and bracelets can be refinished to look like new. Leather straps will always darken and ‘wear’ with time so take care not to get them too wet. Rubber straps are extremely durable and can be cleaned and rinsed with mild soapy water. Metal bracelets can be removed periodically and cleaned, please feel free to bring any watch purchased from us back for cleaning at any time.

Our timepieces are designed to last many generations and we highly recommend a regular service every three to five years to keep your timepiece in perfect working order. Watch maintenance should only be undertaken by an accredited service centre we are happy to undertake this service for you.

Please Remember:

To avoid water damage, check your watch's water resistance and make sure you follow the manufacturer's instructions. Prolonged exposure to hot water such as from a shower or bath can cause the gaskets to expand and contract which may lead to water entering the case. Chronograph timepieces should never be operated under water with only a few exceptions. In the event of exposure to rain or heavy perspiration, wipe your timepiece dry as soon as conveniently possible.

If water or condensation appears inside your watch face, please have it checked by one of our specialists.

If your timepiece has been worn in salt water and is not designed to avoid corrosion, please have it checked by one of our specialists.

Don't apply perfume or moisturisers around your wrist as the chemicals can erode the metal, leather or rubber of watchstraps.

If your timepiece is an automatic winding or a manual winding, it is not recommended that you wear your timepiece while you are playing any high impact sports as the impact can sometimes jar the movement.

With proper care for your timepiece it will become an heirloom that should last for several generations. If you should have any further questions regarding your timepiece then please don’t hesitate to contact one of our specialist members of staff.
