Our ethos is simple: “large enough to serve but small enough to care”.

We are a family run jewellery business, maintaining traditional values without compromise.  Established over 20 years ago by Ian Corica, who named the business after his two sons Michael and Matthew... Michael Matthews Jewellery became the third ‘son’ of its founder Ian.

From small beginnings as a retail shop in Westbourne, Bournemouth, our success saw us open our flagship store on Bournemouth's prestigious Westover Road in Bournemouth town centre, before substantial growth forced us to move into a much larger showroom at 17 Westover Road.  Our latest venture, Charmed by Michael Matthews, resides at the original location of 11 Westover Road.  Both showrooms offer the ultimate jewellery retail experience. 

We have cemented our reputation as one of the South of England's most respected and exciting jewellery retailers.  We have not only welcomed modern influences but moved with them.  Our informed and friendly staff are one of our greatest assets.  Our premises on Westover Road are both inspirational and luxurious, each with a strong personality to match that of it's owners.  When you enter our stores, or visit our website, you are promised a commitment to a personal service with friendly staff who are always available to advise you.  To complement our commitment to holding the most exciting collection of jewellery stock, our design services, watch finder facility, buying expertise and after-sales care, ensure true customer satisfaction.

Michael Matthews is still owned and run by the Corica family.  Ian Corica has over 30 years experience working with the jewellery trade, enjoying aspects of both the retail and wholesale sectors of the industry.  Ian has forged a strong reputation as both an honest buyer and seller of jewellery and watches in a very close-knit trade community where one's word is one's bond.  Ian is fortunate enough to have two grown up sons, Michael and Matthew, acting in management roles within the jewellery businesses, which include another successful venture, Postgoldforcash.com -one of the UK’s leading gold buying companies.  Each of these companies continue to maintain the trading ethics and high standards which have underpinned the success of every one of Ian's business ventures.
